Eleanor Elliott

Eleanor Maye Elliott was born on April 30, 1936, in Garrison, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Alice (Nichols) Gonnerman. She graduated from Dysart High School. Eleanor married Eugene Elliott on August 7, 1955, at EUB Church in Dysart; he preceded her in death March 9, 1999. She worked at the Yarn Tree, sold Avon, and was employed at Sunnycrest Nursing Home, all in Dysart, for many years. Eleanor liked knitting, quilting, playing cards, and enjoyed camping. Eleanor and Eugene moved to Sedalia, Missouri November of 1996.. While in Sedalia, she volunteered at Bothwell Regional Hospital and was active in a card group, playing every weekend.

Eleanor passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024, at the age of 88, at the Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center, in Sedalia. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Jeff Elliott; brother, Donald Gonnerman, and sister-in-law, Marilyn Gonnerman. Eleanor is survived by daughter, Debra Elliott of Dysart; son, Kenneth (Mary) Elliott of Sedalia; six grandchildren, Dawn (Matt) Heitmann, Bert (Mandie) Rawlins, Nicole (Ryan) Cramer and Christopher (Lidia) Elliott, Brad (Amanda) Powers and Debbie (Chris) Artis, and nine great-grandchildren, Chloe Heitmann, Hunter (Bree Monat) Heitmann, Greyson, Quinn and Sophia Rawlins, Rilynn and Kinley Cramer and Hector and Marina Elliott and 11 more great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild with one on the way.

Visitation: Thursday, August 1, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at the Overton Funeral Home, 707 Clark St., Dysart, Iowa.

Funeral Service: Friday, August 2, 2024, at 10:00 am, at the Dysart United Methodist Church, 602 Tilford St., Dysart, Iowa

Burial: Dysart Cemetery
