Eileen Lorraine Frahm, age 81, of Ormond Beach, FL, passed away on April 6, 2024. She was born on September 1, 1942, in Dysart, IA. She was a proud graduate of Geneseo High School and later studied elementary education at the University of Northern Iowa. Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, Leland (Lee) Frahm; her parents, Wallace and Irma Taylor; and her brother, Arnold Taylor.
While working in her first teaching position, she met Lee, and the two made a home in Mendota, IL. Eventually, Lee's work as a mechanical engineer took them to Pontiac, IL; Long Beach, MS; and Poquoson, VA. Eileen is survived by two sons: Gregory (Whitney); Brian (April); five grandchildren: Hannalee, Lauren, Landon, Lainey, and Katelyn; a brother, Marvin (Ruth); and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Eileen was an engaged and active mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend. She cultivated beauty in her home, where she was a welcoming host, and within her relationships. She freely shared her time and talent with those she loved, whether by serving as a Boy Scout leader for her sons and their peers, chauffeuring her grandchildren to school and sports events - and making frequent detours to pick up their favorite treats, or regularly reaching out to lifelong friends both near and far. Even during her last year, Eileen traveled from Florida to Virginia to celebrate her grandchildren's birthdays, filling their home with infectious laughter and time-honed wisdom. In short, Eileen knew how to show up for her people. She was known to appear on the doorsteps of her Newport News students who had been absent for too long before she retired from decades of teaching.
The family wishes to thank the congregation of Oasis Church and the staff of AdventHealth Daytona Beach for their care and compassion.
